Made by a Masonic owned firm, the Eye-Catching Golden Buckle features the Symbolic Mystical Two-Headed Eagle. The foundation of the belt is Leather which is covered by a Gold and Red striped Bullion-type material (not sure what its called). It glows nicely. Attached are Three Straps with hook and clasps. The longest one is adjustable. The Glowing Golden Buckle is certainly Dynamic. In addition, there is gorgeous Rococo-style frame device for adjusting. This item is quite solid, but being well over 100 years old and naturally, there is expected age wear. The edges of the striped material shows wear, and in a couple of places it has opened up on the edge (can probably be glued or sewn down) (see photos). There are folds from storage, but no serious problems. The Belt is historic and very attractive. It measures approximately 38 inches in length. It was made by The Pettibone Mfg Co, a world famous company founded by and for the most part staffed by Freemasons. Their logo is appears on the back of the buckle and on the leather flap (too worn to read). A DYNAMIC & MOST CLASSIC ANTIQUE Circa 1890’s MASONIC GOLDEN SCOTTISH RITE 32nd DEGREE SWORD-BELT! A DECORATIVE, SYMBOLIC AND GENUINE PART OF AMERICAN MASONIC HISTORY! The maker, “The Pettibone Mfg Co”, ranks high alongside “The Ames Sword Company”, “The M. C. Lilley & Co” and “William Horstmann of Philadelphia”. There are gold elements here, but the piece is not marked. We are not jewelers and do not know if there is any actual gold here, or if these are a lovely gold colored metal of some type..
