PLEASE READ DESCRIPTIONI\'m sure most of you already know that the original owners of United Cutlery went bankrupt and was liquidated in 2007.Since then, the new owner who bought the \"United Cutlery\" trademarks has been having the new knives made in mainland China instead of Taiwan. Then United Cutlery decided to Unlock \"The Hibben Vault\" (that\'s what they called it) to re-release some classic treasures from the Hibben collection. These revival items were to be made in China. The original Double Shadows were made in Taiwan. United had to make sure that the knives had the same specs as the originals. So they had to send a sample to China to makethe knives. When they made the knife they copied the sample to the letter and stamped it \"Proto\" on the blade just like the sample sent by United. That\'s right United sent them a Prototype knife because that was all they had. There were 200 of them missed stamped \"PROTO\" andby the time they realized it; they had already shipped out 150 of them. There are only a hand full kicking around now.This Double Shadow\"Proto\"is one of those knives.Just like the 1991 original this is truly a a genuine work of art!Die hard collectors know theseareSuper Rare!This distinctive knife is the \"Double Shadow\". Gil Hibben, famous for his unique knife and blade designs, custom crafted this knife specificfor United Cutlery in 1991 as the second in senthis annual Fantasy Series offerings. Measuring 11-1/4-Inch overall, this eye catching offering features a 5-1/2-Inch mirror polished, 420 stainless steel blade split into two sections by an unusual blade cut out. The hilt offers a handle with silver wire wrap that provides a sure grip. This knife includes Gil Hibbens personal stamp etched on the blade and a custom, genuine leather sheath.When I acquiredthe knife it had minor blemishes. I never used it or played with it. That is how Ireceivedit.Trying to get up close to the blade was hard.
