French Napoleonic period, Grenadier A’ Pied shako. Probably for a senior NCO, having a leather “tramline” embossed peak with thick leather crown. Brass 1812 model Imperial Eagle plate affixed to the front, having a flaming grenade to the centre, denoting Grenadiers. Brass segmented chinscales which are leather backed and complete with cotton ties. Correct large worsted red pompom. White, red and blue leather national cockade.
