Handmade in France most likely byDecoules Paris.
Made in the 18th century style ofJean-Francois Balzac (1711-1766) who was
Master by priviledge to Royal Court Service.
On Lobed Stepped Base details up toabout 1749 France.
Painted Metal Tole Shade.
36 1/4\" high
22\" diameter (shade).
Polished.
Superb condition.

Those were configured with two suspended bulbs in shade,
this one is with the much nicer individually candle arms.
Picture before last shows one in Gilt Bronze with a little wear
that sold at sale in Germany for 1848 Euro.($2091)

This one is Silver Plated Bronze which would have been the more costly finish offered.
Such a Lamp new made in France todaywould be over $6500.

Worth mentioning is the quality of the bronze, the platingand the remarkable size.
The last four pictures is from the excellentFrenchtelevisionseries Paris Murders.This historic apartment is in Paris witha close view outside the windowofthe Eiffel Tower.This is the size of lamp which suits this kind ofinterior and is pictured on the desk in silverwith red shade.
