Measuring just over 1 inch (2.54 cm), this tooth is from a Cretaceous Pterosaur, Coloborhynchus moroccensis, which was found south of Taouz in the Moroccan Sahara. It is one of the few named flying reptiles from Africa. The narrow, curved teeth were assumed used to catch fish. Related species are also recorded from Brazil, UK and the USA. A new African Pterosaur found in Niger might be related. The cube is for size perspective as it measures 1 cm. It is not part of the sale.
