This folk art piece was purchased from Leoffler Gallery. Colorful artwork features a running dog on blue background with green leaves and flower. . Retains old paper label on the back and details this piece was made by the Huichol Indians. 16\" wide x12\" tall. Overall excellent condition Signed back side lower edge \"D. Martin\".
Huichol paintings are made with beeswax spread on wood, then left to warm in the sun. The artist then scratches his design into the wax with a sharpened stick. The lines of the drawing are then filled in by patiently twisting and coiling colored yarns
