Very nice and unusual combination specimen. Pink fluorite octahedrons, growing out of a mass of crystallized Hedenbergite. Clasically pink Fluorite is only known from alpine occurrences and rare. Around 2012, these started to come out temporarily from the Huanggang mines in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia, in similar quality. For many people finally an opportunity to be able to buy pink Fluorite for somewhat decent price. Not all octahedrons on this specimen are in great condition, although some are, but the combination of Hedenbergite with the pink octahedrons is very unusual, even for the locality of Huanggang mine. This piece was from a serious midwest collection, and would have been purchased by the collector between 2012 and 2015, right around when they came out, still has the collector\'s hand written label. Just a very nice locality specimen and good mineral combo.This specimen is 151 grams in weight, or 5 1/4 oz. The size is 2.5inch x 2.5 inch x 1.3 inch.
