German Windup Flip Cylinder clock

FEATURES:

This is a genuine horizontal cylinder flip clock.
It is German made and marked ‘Weko’.
Brass with black and gilt exterior.
The clock has a wind up mechanism marked ‘GERMANY 7 SEVEN JEWELS UNADJUSTED’.
It measures approximate 20cms across.

CONDITION:

The clock is in full working order and was still ticking 7 days after winding.
The exterior casing is in very good condition. There is some light wear to the gilt decoration but this is minimal and commensurate with the piece’s age.
There is a small chip (about 2mm long) to the black casing on the reverse - see final image (standard pencil is shown for scale).

ABOUT:

From my internet research, these clocks were made originally by Kohler in 1953/4. I don’t know the relationship between Kohler and Weko, but the Köhler clock has been called ‘The Father of the Modern Flip Clock’. I’m sure flip clock collectors out there will know more.
I purchased this clock about 20 years ago based on its appearance. I’m selling because I’m moving from my current 1950s house and changing my decor.
