I am offering for sale this Fine User Ca. 1881 22\" Greenslade, Bristol Melboune Razee Jointer Plane Inv#ML46

\"What exactly is a razee plane? The name is derived from the nautical term razee, a sailing ship that has been cut down to reduce the number of decks. The name is derived from the French vaisseau rasé, meaning a razed (in the sense of shaved down) ship. This is a Ca 1881 22\" Greenslade, Bristol Melboune razee jointer wooden plane. It is marked on toe W. Greenslade Bristol, Melbourne with owners name B. Stout. The heavy duty cutter is marked with a name and Warrnated Cast Steel Sheffield and it measures 7-1/4\" x 2-5/8\". It has some pitting, dings, rust and could use sharpening. The plane has typical scars, hairlines & scars, the tote has a nick off tip.. It has a great feel and patina. The original wedge is in good shape.
