Fine German heavy cavalry saber, C. 1800- Napoleonic war era, Original scabbard. Light oxidization to blade surface intact and original overall, grip with light where to leather, small areas of wood showing, wire wrapped slightly loose from shrinkage to leather and wood. Scabbard throat approximately 1/4 surface missing. Iron mounted in iron scabbard. Marked- ‘SA’ on rear Quillion. As used by Saxony, Bavaria, Wurtenburg and Baden. overall very good plus, blade 32 1/2 inches, 40 inches over all in scabbard. Scabbard has a few shallow dents. Condition is Used.
