Offered is a lovely, Cherokee Maple Market Basket with carved wooden handles and double rows of fancy curls It measures 8\" x 10\" x 6\".

Beautiful condition. One split curl and two nicked horizontal slats; otherwise excellent. Please see pictures.

This came from a South Carolina estate. Previous owners purchased it in North Carolina, but it is unsigned and no longer has a tag with information about maker. A talented basketmaker crafted this basket.

I was informed by an member that this was made by a member of their family, the Lossiah family, most likely by Mary Jane or Martha. I did some research and found a similar style basket made of maple by Martha.

*If you want me to hold items for the next week\'s sale, please contact me andwaitto pay until the last sale ends. Then I\'ll send you a combined invoice. If you pay right away, I will NOT be able to hold your items due to \'s ship within 1-day after payment rule. Please tell me if you are waiting for next week\'s sale. If you don\'t communicate and don\'t pay, you will get an automated non-paying buyer notice from after 4 days. Thank you!

*International Buyers:I will mail first class to Canada but to all other locations, I prefer to mail priority to insure your item arrives safely. Please email me with questions. Sorry for the expense, but I\'ve had items lost overseas when mailing first class and don\'t want to take the risk of losing items.

*I pack carefully and try to reuse materials to save on environmental impact. I often double-box items with smaller gift boxes collected from various thrift stores. Though I don\'t like styrofoam peanuts for environmental reasons, I have found they are the best at protecting fragile items against damage during shipping. I reuse all that I receive and hope you will make use of the ones that come in your packages. Thank you.
