This is a rare November 26th, 1935 broadside (single page playbill) fromthe regional tour engagement ofthemusical revue \"EARL CARROLL VANITIES\"at the Tivoli Theatre in Chicago, Illinois. (The production played several mid-west venues in the winter of 1935, but closed on the road, failing to arrive in New York.) ..... The revue starred comedy team BOBBY CLARK and PAUL McCULLOUGH (the last time they would work together), FIFI D\'ORSAY, BUSTER WEST, VIOLET CARLSON, LUCILLE PAGE, HUGH CAMERON, the CRANE SISTERS, AL SEXTON and CHARLES CARRER with EDWARD CUNNIFEE and his Vanites Band ..... Side note: This tour marked the final stage appearances of PAUL McCULLOUGH (1883 - 1936). Following the tour, he entered a sanitarium suffering from exhaustion and depression. After checking out of the treatment center, Bobby Clark was driving him home when McCullough remarked that he needed a shave -- stopping at a barber shop, he went in and sat down in a barber chair and while talking to the barber, suddenly grabbed a razor and slashed his own throat.
