This Asian Good Luck Frog Majolica Bowl features 10 little frogs sitting on the edge of a bowl looking into the pond (or the inside of the bowl) and has an applied Red Flower on one side, a single lily pad by itself among the frogs and two frogs facing each other on a separate lily pad. The whole thing is ceramic, and appears to be drip painted on the bowl with some bare pottery showing.
The interior of the bowl has crazing in the finish, the exterior does not. None of the ten frogs, two Lily pads or the flower have any breaks, chips or repairs. Someone in another listing called the flower a Lotus flower, which would fit with the Frogs.
The bowl measures about 8.5\" from the outside to the outside of the decorative elements on the outside of the bowl. The inside opening of the bowl is about 5\", as the stems from the Lily Pads and Flower are applied over the rim and into the bowl. The interior of the bowl is about 2\" deep and about 6.5\" wide on the inside around the bowl part.
I\'ve been told that the frogs are considered lucky. They are adorable.
