IT IS PROVENCAL, EARLY 19C, AND MADE IN ST ZACHARIE (The North of Provence). TIANS/GRESSALLES NEVER, NEVER HAD HANDLES WHEN MADE IN PROVENCE. THEY WERE NOT JUST PREPARATION BOWLS LIKE CASTELNAUDARY FOR CASSOULET, COQ À VIN, CASSEROLES AND SUCH. WHATEVER DISH NEEDED A PREPARATION BOWL TO MIX THE INGREDIENTS, WHETHER IT BE DOUGH FOR SOMETHING SWEET OR BREAD, IT WAS USED. IT WAS ESPECIALLY USED FOR DAUBE, A SPECIAL PROVENCAL MEAT STEW. THE GREEN GLAZE IS STUNNING AND THE PHOTOS DO NOT DO IT JUSTICE. EMERALD GREEN WAS THE COLOR OF GREEN IN NORTHERN PROVENCE. THE VIBRANT YELLOW COMPLEMENTS THE GREEN. IT IS UNIQUE, SPECIAL, RARE AND JUST BEAUTIFUL. 15.5 X 7 (H)
