FRANKLIN MINT EAGLE POCKET/COLLECTION KNIFE , Vin. 2000s: This knife is not intended to be a "working knife", but a promotional souvenir. Companies like Parker Cutlery, Frost Cutlery, Parker-Frost Cutlery, Smokey Mountain Knife Works and many of the larger cutleries produce collector pieces, promoting limited and time-released knives with special decorations or special-occasion events. This one has a bald-eagle's head cast in plastic and painted in a stern expression. Blade-tang shows copyright FM (for Franklin Mint); back side shows initials RB, possibly eagle artist. Stainless steel blade is unused; frame is square, solid and clean; spring is intact, gives good walk and talk; front handle is pristine wood with badge; back handle...not so much. While showing the knife, I dropped it, causing several scratches in the wood (see photos). Padded black pleather zipper-pouch is included, I have a couple more knives from this collector series which will come for sale eventually. Series items have value in artistic design and skilled manufacturing as well as limited quantity. Also, membership is required; not so, here.Mailing only to USA-48.
