Own a Real Authentic Piece of the Ford’sTheater!

Ford’s Theater in Washington, D.C. was the location ofone of this country’s greatest National tragedies on April 14, 1865, when PresidentAbraham Lincoln was shot by John Wilkes Booth. The theater, opened by John Fordin 1863, has had a long and varied history since that fateful day. Closedimmediately after the assassination, it was later reopened as governmentoffices, a medical museum and later a warehouse. In the 1930’s it was againrenovated and re-opened as the Lincoln Museum.

In 1964, Congress funded a complete renovation to turnthe historic building back into a working theater, as close as possible to its1865 original appearance. The Coe Construction Co. Inc., of Washington. D.C.was awarded the contract for the work, completing the restoration in 1968. Ithas been operating as a theater under the National Park Service ever since.

This small piece of pine wood was removedfrom a larger piece of wood salvaged during the 1960’s restoration.

Now you have an opportunity to own an original relic fromone of the most famous theaters in the world!

The actual piece of wood is about ¾ inch long and is mountedon a 5x7 inch descriptive COA display that can be easily framed. The display isprotected by a stiff plastic protector. The background image on the displaycard is an early one taken of the theater in April 1865. An image of theoriginal pine block of wood with vintage ID tag is also shown along with aninterior restoration photo.
