This week I\'m offering a variety of collectibles, including trading cards as well as comics. Marvel reached its peak of popularity and creativity during what\'s known as the \"Silver Age\" of comics - the Sixties and early Seventies. By the time the mid-Sixties rolled around, Marvel had been producing popular titles for several years. They came up with the idea of reprinting stories from their large backlog of science fiction and horror titles, as published throughout the Fifties and early Sixties when they were known as Atlas Comics. Many of these stories were illustrated by such greats as Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, Don Heck and others. Thus was born \"Fantasy Masterpieces.\" After two issues, Marvel doubled the size of the comic, increased the price to twenty five cents, and started reprinting stories from the Golden Age. This was the first time in a quarter century that the original adventures of Captain America, the Human Torch and the Sub Mariner had been printed! Here I have Fantasy Masterpieces #10, dated August 1967. It features reprints of Golden Age superhero stories, as well as some classic Atlas era SF tales. It\'s in fine/very fine condition overall (slight cover corner nick) - see scans for condition.
