*This classic Silver Age era (1956-69). comic book is a missing centerfold but there is a complete story.This is a key comic book featuring the origins of the iconic Silver Surfer and Galactus from the Fantastic Four series. Published by Marvel Comics in 1966 with dynamic cover art by the legendary creator and artist, Jack Kirby.This is part three of the famous Lee/Kirby GALACTUS TRILOGY.3rd Galactus app 2nd Silver Surfer app This book would CONDITIONALLY grade at a GD 2.0 if it wasn\'t missing the centerfold. Luckily, the missing centerfold doesn\'t affect the story as all 20 pages of story are present and accounted for ... the missing centerfold probably had adverts and house ads, bullpen bulletins and Stan\'s Soapbox. It\'s solid no major rips or tears. the pages are a very supple cream and the staples are holding the book together nicely.

12¢ coverprice Silver-Age booksare harder to find in Mint grade mostly because ofnewsstand distribution. The nature of the business really reduced the possiblenumber of Mint / Near Mint books because of delivery (tied with twine inbundles) and display (in metal spinner racks) that causedproblemswith the cover and spine even before any kids got their grubby hands on them,bent them, perused them, shared them, rolled them, and bent back the cover to read them.Considering the odds, it\'s amazing that any books in NM condition ever made it through the process.This is themain reason for the extreme pricing for anything in an Overstreet grade of 7.0 or higher and the desire for more affordable reading copies of Key Issues, like this book.

Provenance: This Silver Age Key issue has been in my collection for a couple of decades and has been stored in a pet-free, smoke-free, air-conditioned environment during my ownership. The previous owner was unknown, but this was purchased while working for Collectors Comics in Wantagh, NY after a collection came into the shop. I put it aside thinking that one day, I would replace this copy with a better one if it one ever showed up, and luckily it eventually did. This book traveled with me to Florida and has not seen the light of day for quite some time.
Sold as is. I personally did a page count and heart-breakingly so, I will attest that the book is missing 1 centerfold wrap (house ad, 2 misc ad pages, and the bullpen bulletin page) all Story Pages are complete and accounted for. Spine is good, pages are supple and cream colored. Not brittle, not brown. There are no tears. Except for some scribbles on the front and back cover, this is a very presentable comic book! I personally review and page-count every book I sell, checking for insidious rips/tears coupon clippings, or ....Missing Marvel Stampsor clipped Palisades Park amusement admissions ... or additional drawings by previous owners, centerfolds or pin-up pages missing, hidden money, etc, etc. I try to list any and all major defects as possible, but I\'m only human and can miss or forget some minor details.
I have 40+ years of experience grading comics, but grading is subjective and I only offer my opinion for your convenience. Along with my grading evaluation, I also give the objective Overstreet definitions for your convenienceas well.
