For any Shirley Temple collectors or anyone looking for something extremely rare and unique - this is for you!

We acquired these dishes through a family member who was a collector and have been trying for years to identify their backstory.

In all the time we have had them in our possession, we have only seen two online which were in very poor, faded condition.

We finally reached out to the Shirley Temple Museum in Santa Monica, CA with the hope they could shed some light on them for us. They were as baffled as we were as they had never come across these before. They were able to determine that these beautiful dishes are in fact, unauthorized printed pieces of European origin, with an estimated date of the early 1930's. They explained at the height of Shirley Temple's popularity, people all around the world were trying to capitalize off her image so they used it without gaining approval from her agents in Hollywood. They were just very surprised they had never seen these.

We then took them to a rare antique art saleeer who after researching determined that the translucent glass is exquisite with delicate textured detail, of very high quality, and were clearly not mass produced or people would see them in circulation. One of their theories is that some wealthy family, who was a fan of Shirley Temple, may have had the dishes custom made for their own use. If this is the case, these dishes are extremely valuable.
