Extremely RARE Wade & Butcher Swinguard Safety Folding Hunter Vintage Knife...:

Extremely RARE Wade & Butcher Swinguard Safety Folding Hunter Vintage Knife.... Condition is \"Used\". Shipped with USPS First Class.

Circa (1818 - 1890) Wade & Butcher Sheffield England (B) Arrow Maltese Cross Stamping.

4\" Closed and 8 3/8\" Opened. Steel liner and Steel Swing Lock with Nickel Silver Front & Rear Bolsters and N/S Pins hold the European Red Stag Handles.

No cracks in the Stag , but some thin edge chips are evident. This style of knife is emulated by what is known as the Marbles Safety Knife (1898 - present) but somewhat different in construction in Pin placement, length and Guards.

I have only known of one other Wade & Butcher Safety Folders since I purchased this one over 20 years ago.

I am sure there may be some naysayers concerning this listing, but I am convinced that this extremely rare knife is legit. Everyone has their opinion on which came first, the chicken or the egg?

The blackened age patina 20+ years ago convinced me. Only the backspring was left in the patina aged condition as I first found it...(see last pic). The European Red Stag is also a convincing feature.

Take it or leave it. I don\'t have to sell it, but I would consider an honorable offer or BIN.

note: To be clear - there is little to no side to side wobble, but some lateral rocker motion in the blade lock position. And Swing guard is missing.
