For Sale today:One original one of a kind Art Folder of the WW II experience of the Finnish American SoldierSimo Rassinen iin the 1631st.The 1940 Census shows Simo Rassinen living in New York with his parents andworking as a Commercial Artist.His father Kalle Rissanen appears to have been a well known Finnish writer.Simo RIssanen was 26 years of age in 1940. The art folder has text in the beginning that is addressed to his son to tell him about his experience in WW IIin the 1631st.The folder measures 12 by 18 inches, the pages contained are slightly smaller.The folder is in dark blue color and shows some wear.The folder contains 21 pages.3 pages have text on one side.Two pages are addressed to the son of the soldier/artist.One page explains the monotype print and that this folder is indeed the only copy that was made of the artwork.There is a total of 35 monotype prints in the folder.17 pages have text and a monotype print and one page has text only with the monotype print missing.The monotype prints measure apr. 6 by 8 inches, there is a small light purple color added paper framingto each print. Over time some of the prints have lost parts of the framing.The paper on which the prints are pasted has aged and suffered losses as seen in the attachedphotos.Each inscription details the content of what the art depicts, often with the location where itwas taking place.Overall a unique Art Folder of WW II with a story to tell.
