Hardcastle was founded in 1908 by Edmund Hardcastle, and sold 49% of the company to Dunhill (who build a factory just next door) in 1936. Early Hardcastle pipes were very high quality, and Dunhill eventually purchased 100% of the name in 1967. To the dismay of Hardcastle family members, Dunhill lowered the quality of the brand. Pipes that don\'t meet Dunhill standards become Parkers, and ones that don\'t meet these standards became Hardcastle. Lucky for you, this pipe dates to well before this time. This piece isfrom the early “”Dunhill” era of the Hardcastle’s history, it was born in the period from 1946 for 1967, i.e. at the time of a harmonious merge of “family” technologies and “Dunhill” management and before merge with Parker under the Parker-Hardcastle brand
A neat but stout Billiard shape, this piece from Hardcastle is just a great English take on the old design, with balanced proportions and elegant lines to boot.This Billiard exudes the refinement of traditional English shape chart standards. The bowl features a strapping build formed by thick, straight walls. A muscular, proportionally balanced shank transitions from the bowl and joins a saddle stem of jet-black vulcanite. The stummel wears a crisp sandblast, completing this classic shape with a dark, rugged complexion.
The pipe has been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, and it\'s ready to be enjoyed with your favorite tobacco.
