Unique and historical \"Early 1900s Promo Photograph, showing a Wonderfully Ornate Circus Band Wagon.\" The photograph measures approx. 5-1/8” x 3-1/2” (13 cm. x 8.9 cm.) Released by the Circus Historical Society.

This is a lovely and ornately designed wagon was created to carry the band in the circus parade. Because of it\'s special beauty, we felt it only appropriate that we should give a bit of history about it. So we spent a good bit of time on the Circus Historical Society website. And although we looked at lot of photos of all kinds of circus wagons, we didn\'t not find any information for this one. It\'s a shame because it surely belonged to one of the \"big name\" circuses.

It was typical when a circus came to town to parade all the circus wagons through the city as a form of advertisement … to say \"We\'re here!!!!!\" And there were many different types of wagons. They had their wardrobe and baggage wagons, and the stake driving and pole wagons, ticket wagons and prop wagons, Floats and Tableau wagons, cage wagons for the animals, and finally the calliopes and musical Instruments wagons, and the band wagons and chariots. And all of these wagons would be loaded onto flat bed train cars, for the trip to the next city.

This lovely promo photograph is an ornate bandwagon is in excellent condition - clean and crisp, with very little surface abrasions. The edges and corner are quite strong. The photo is slightly curled along the horizontal axis, as expected for unmounted photos such as this.
