Overall: Lovely writer. Nice flex. So fun to write with. Some signs of age. Presser bar has been replaced with a new Anderson pen J-Bar. New Sac with talc. Lever box has been repaired by a jeweler with a new axle.Nib: Surface scratches. Nice flex (see pictures) Nib stamp reads \"WATERMAN IDEAL NEW YORK 2\"Feed: Flows well, but will dry with quick writing and disuse. Advise wet ink. Benefits from a dip in ink or water to get started when first uncapped. Very wet writer otherwise.Section: Some surface scratches. No cracks or gouges on section.Body: Some discoloration compared to cap. Some surface scratches. Bite marks present. Imprint and chasing still present but fading. Factory imprint: \"PAT\'D 1884 MAY 1899 WATERMAN IDEAL FOUNTAIN PEN N.Y. U.S.A. & AUG. 4 1903\"Cap: Ring top. Some tarnish to ring. Strong chasing still present. Cap screws onto body, but I am reluctant to turn to full torque. No discoloration of cap. No cracks or gouges. Slight surface scratches.Function: Filling system works well. Lovely writer. Will railroad with fast writing.
