Early 1890s CDV PHOTO SWEET GIRL TODDLER - B Pentz, Photographer - York, PA. CDV with some unusual characteristics for estimated age period. Basically, good CDV condition - age spots mainly on front, though don't interfere with picture. Great facial shot of child, especially with some movement of feet - see pic. The CDV thickness is characteristic of age & good for condition, and this photographer was actually born in 1854. So other things typical of earlier pix, likely used for another or no specific reason - he would've been a bit young to be a professional yet in Civil War era. :) His primary photography business was 1880s & 1890s, and in the 80's, he actually had 2 different partners for years covering most of that decade - and there was a joint logo on back of pix. So, his sole logo on back of this one also means 1890s. Likely that older studio pieces were just continued to be used for portraits then (like the chair, which had sort of faded out of popularity the decade before). A mix.
