The Cleveland Herald newspaper in great condition condition; full edition--four pages: Wednesday, March 4, 1848. Vol. XXVII No. 39.
Each page about 17 inches across by 24 inches vertically (when the paper is closed.) One tiny hole under the "Wednesday" in the date (see photo).
A rare glimpse into the affairs of a soon-to-be major American city in its early days. Cleveland went on to be the 5th largest city in America by the 1920 Census--74 years after this paper was printed. Some interesting stories including the results of a city election, "The Virginia Claim" to the area, and other stories.
