Erie Diesels wore a classic paint scheme emblazoned with
deco-style pale “cream” nose bands, or “wings.” The Alco
PAs had much longer wings in keeping with their 6\' long
noses, as seen on the far track in Andy’s rendering, while
the F3\'s carried shorter wings. Either way, they created a
splendid impression...so much so that Australia’s Victoria
Railway chose this same design for its locomotives.
