Copper-engraved bust portrait of Elbert Hubbard, signed "with all kind wishes"
Inscribed illustration signed "To Thos. B. Harned/with all kind wishes/from his friend/Elbert Hubbard". With facsimile signature of artist in unknown hand. B/w sepia-toned, 7¾x10, overall, 2¾x4¾ image, one surface. Copper-engraved portrait. Hubbard (1856-1915) was a writer, editor and printer whose most famous work was A Message to Garcia (1899). Hubbard gave up newspaper and advertising work in 1892 to found the communal art colony Roycroft Press in order to revive old handicrafts, especially artistic printing. Hubbard went down with the Lusitania when it was sunk by the Germans in 1915. Payment - Buyers will be sent payment instructions following their purchase. Customers are advised that they are responsible for payment of any international duties and/or taxes. Return Policy: If any substantial defect not described in the item listing is found by the purchaser, the item(s) must be returned within 3 days of receipt. Item(s) may not be returned except for reasons of authenticity or substantial defect in description. This warranty is limited to a refund of the purchase price upon the return of the merchandise to our parent company Gallery of History in satisfactory condition. Shipping - We ship via FedEx and USPS. Shipping charges for multiple orders are combined whenever possible. Due to the value of the items we sell, orders over $200 will require a signature for delivery. Please contact us in advance if this is an issue. For high-value items, this policy may also limit our ability to ship to a PO Box. All international shipments (destinations outside the U.S) will be sent via FedEx.
