EGYPTIAN MUSICIANS PLAQUE MID CENTURY WOMEN WALL ART MCM Mixed Metals 16X26\" RECTANGULAR ELABORATE BORDER INSTRUMENTS VINTAGE 1950-60s BAS RELIEF
Meticulously Preserved• Music was a source of pleasure and relaxation for rich Egyptians; there\'s a flute player, a harp player, and a young lady playing the “norva,” close to our banjo and made out of a turtle shell.• Wall sculpture is based on a wall painting from the Tomb of Nakht, circa 1350 BC; he was heir to the throne during the reign of the pharaoh Ay (though he never became a pharaoh)• The exploitation of mixed metals such as copper, bronze and precious metals such as gold and silver - was an essential part of their culture• Exotic colors and decorative trim around the entire plaque; hanger on back• Plaque was probably acquired as a souvenir while visiting in or around Egypt in the 50-60s• I’m not sure what the companion design is above their heads but it appears to be food or grains
***Excellent vintage condition with no dents or repairs; Polished, cleaned, and oiled.
