EARLY 1950\'s To Mid 1960\'s USN 7823 (AER) G-1 FLIGHT JACKETS 100% WOOL KNIT SET:

This is a listing for one set (pair of flaired cuffs and rib rack waist knits) correct for a USN Korean War to the mid 1960\'s G-1 flight jackets. These particular knits are a seal brown in color & 100% wool. Correct in both horizontal & vertical dimensions for any size (36-50) G-1 (Korean War and into the early Vietnam era) jacket.
These particular knits were made here in the USA & ordered by me to my specifications to be used for both my restorations work or new builds. More specifically for my 7823 (AER) G-1 builds. All of which were created to my specification to duplicate my original Monarch, L.W. Foster and Cagleco jackets.
These same knits are a close to a perfect match to most vintage G-1 jackets from the Korean War to early Vietnam era. So close that more often than not I can use these same cuffs as replacements without changing out the waist knits. That is for those jackets only requiring a cuff replacement. Note that I have included a number of pix within the descriptive images of correct era jackets to prove out this point.
The wool used to make these knits have a long fiber. Therefore a great quality and as such non itchy, will not pill & something to appreciate. Unlike many other jacket knits in which I had the misfortune to have encountered in the past. Exactly why I specifically created these offered here to be used for either my new builds or restoration projects.
More specifically I also had these knits created to duplicate that same shaped cuffs originally used by most of the 7823 (AER) makers. Which did not utilize the usual conical shaped cuff and incorrectly offered for most all replacement type cuffs. As evidenced with the pix I\'ve included a few images to the descriptive images of original jackets.
Most notably, all the original jackets from the era these knits represent did not have much in the way of cuff reveal. Most all the examples seen more than likely shows no more than 2 1/2\" to 2 3/4\" of reveal and between 3 1/2\" to 3 5/8\" for the waist knits and consistant with REGULAR sized jackets from that era. Exactly as offered here with my replacement knits.
Currently, I now have slightly more knit sets for my restoration and reproduction work than I will need for my work for the foreseeable future. You are welcome to a set while they last!
Keep in mind that I am an avid vintage jacket collector, restorer and maker. I took it upon myself to I have created the best quality, most accurately duplicated replacement knits available for most all USN mil spec jackets period.
Note, within the descriptive images are some comparison images plus a few examples of my workmanship using these same knits. All seen done with a number of original G-1 jackets. To include my late father\'s all original 1954 model (VA-55 Warhorses) Cagleco. Among the others seen are 1950\'s Monarch, L.W. Foster to include a mid 1960s Star.
