From the September 2009 issue of Playboy (and later reprinted in The Art of Doug Sneyd on page 140), this collection features four preliminary illustrations created by acclaimed illustrator Doug Sneyd for that issues gag cartoon. The first scan features everything included in the listing- with further scans for greater detail. The sketches (there are four in total) are rendered in pencil on vellum and are various sizes (measuring from approximately 8 1/2 by 11 inches down to the smallest piece, the small head, which measures approximately 2 by 3 inches). A Xerox copy of the final version of the cartoon as it was ultimately published in Playboy is included as well as a Xerox copy of the magazine cover.Please note that the magazine itself is not included. Condition on each piece is good- these were prelims and as part of the creative process are not expected to be kept perfect.Would look great framed together!

About Doug Sneyd:

Doug Sneyd began his career incommercial illustration before going freelance to work for a variety of book and magazine publishers. He also illustrated single-panel cartoons for theToronto Star, Canada\'s largest circulation newspaper (cartoons that were eventually syndicated throughout North America). In 1964, he began working for Playboyand hisgag strips have appeared in the magazine ever since. Throughout his career, he has contributed over 500 cartoons in all and became a favorite artist of Playboy readers.
