Listed above is a beautiful natural citrine crystal from the Kitwe region in Zambia Africa. This particular piece has a lovely lemon to sunny gold color and excellent clarity.
These are completely natural and unpolished crystals. Most are semi terminated rough, and some have remnants of iron deposits on the exterior.
The crystals in this series would be perfect for any jewelry, or lapidary work. Many have some small chips or damage, making them perfect for tumbling, faceting, or any crafting.
Citrine is also an excellent stone to work with in meditation and crystal healing because it is one of the few stones that does not hold negative charge. Like a beam of sunlight, these crystals emanate positive healing energies while remaining grounded and pure. These crystals would be a perfect addition to any medicine bag, grid, or in any energy work.
Some of the best examples of natural citrine crystals available come from this location. The variety of quartz known as citrine is quite rare to be found in nature. Consequently, a large portion of the citrine available on the market is actually heat-treated amethyst. Late 2009 rich yellow, lemon, and honey colored citrine deposits were found in the Kitwe region. The color and clarity of these pieces are truly one of a kind. This makes them perfect pieces for any jeweler or collector. In 2011 the GIA had an opportunity to examine the crystals produced from this region. They found them to be indicative of natural crystals, and “a great addition to the gem market”.
