A 1/1 scale accurate model of Dmanisi skull 3. 3D printed in PLA plastic.The specimen this model is based off of was the third skull to be found at the Dmanisi anthropological site in Georgia. He is tentatively identified as male, though it is not completely certain and there are lines of evidence to the contrary. He lived ~1.8 million years ago, and his skull is the most complete one from the early Pleistocene.
The Dmanisi hominins have been subject to debate on their classification since their discovery. They were initially considered part of greater Homo Erectus, but there have also been suggestions of Homo Habilis, Homo Ergaster, creating the subspecies Homo Erectus Georgicus, or creating an entirely new species, Homo Georgicus.
