This Disneyland TOMORROWLAND 1967 TICKET BOOTH Trinket Box is a valuable addition to your Disneyana collection. This limited edition item was created in celebration of Disneyland Park\'s 50th Anniversary Celebration in 2005. The trinket box is designed in the shape of the iconic Tomorrowland ticket booth and comes with a matching ticket pin. It is a must-have for any Disney fan and collector. Don\'t miss your chance to own this rare and unique piece of Disney history.
The box is 7\" H x 6\" W x 4\" D AND WAS EXPERTLY SCULPTED BY KEVIN KIDNEY TO CELEBRATE THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF DISNEYLAND.
This is a very cool item and would make a great addition to anyone\'s nostalgic Disneyland collection. Especially for those who remember when Disneyland actually required tickets for individual rides. This box represents one of those Tomorrowland ticket booths, and even includes a special pin of one of the Monorail tickets you could get at that booth.
THIS BEAUTIFUL TOMORROWLAND TRINKET BOX COMES WITH A SPECIAL TICKET PIN AND A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. LIMITED EDITION OF 1500.
A couple things: This piece was displayed for a while on a bookshelf. So though I dusted it and used a soft cleaning cloth to make it look shiny and new, it may still need some gentle cleaning. (Depending on what you like. To me, it looks great.) The pin does not come with the original backing holders, so I just used some Mickey Ears backing to keep them safe. I also do not have the original box for this, so it will be carefully packaged so it arrives without any damage.
Here is a little about the piece from the Certificate of Authenticity that is included:
\"Tomorrowland offers new frontiers in science, adventure, and ideals,\" reads its 1955 dedication plaque. Design could also have been added to that lofty list, as this most ever-changing realm of Disneyland Park has been an exciting challenge to Disney Imagineers from its inception. The key design question then and now: How to style the future for an audience of today.
Walt Disney\'s answer: The young artist Rolly Crump. Walt admired Crump\'s flair for creating designsembodying a colorful, structured motion. For the all-new Tomorrowland of 1967, the impinger created a center ticket booth, which satisfied the area\'s broad demands; It delighted mod contemporaries but also seemed poised to defy gravity and blast off at any moment.
To salute the 50th Anniversary of Disneyland Park, disney artist Kevin Kidney sculpted this scale replica of the Central Ticket Booth from Tomorrowland 1967. The second in a series of trinket boxes inspired by the themed ticket and information kiosks originally scattered throughout the park. It quite fittingly includes a collectible pin modeled on a ticket for on trip aboard the DisneylandMonorail. Next stop: The Future!
Here\'s a little about Disneyland I found on Wikipedia:
Disneyland is a theme park at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. It was the first theme park opened by The Walt Disney Company and the only one designed and constructed under the direct supervision of Walt Disney, and opened on July 17, 1955. Disney initially envisioned building a tourist attraction adjacent to his studios in Burbank to entertain fans who wished to visit; however, he soon realized that the proposed site was too small for the ideas that he had. After hiring the Stanford Research Institute to perform a feasibility study determining an appropriate site for his project, Disney bought a 160-acre (65 ha) site near Anaheim in 1953. The park was designed by a creative team hand-picked by Walt from internal and outside talent. They founded WED Enterprises, the precursor to today\'s Walt Disney Imagineering. Construction began in 1954 and the park was unveiled during a special televised press event on the ABC Television Network on July 17, 1955. Since its opening, Disneyland has undergone expansions and major renovations, including the addition of New Orleans Square in 1966, Bear Country in 1972, Mickey\'s Toontown in 1993, and Star Wars: Galaxy\'s Edge in 2019.[2] Additionally, Disney California Adventure Park opened in 2001 on the site of Disneyland\'s original parking lot.
