Tyrannosaur Footprint
Most likely from a Gorgosaurus, a smaller and early relative of Tyrannosaurus rex. It was pulled from quarry shown in the listing.The quarry location is in SE Wyoming.
Dinosaur Footprint.Time period: Campanian Stage of the CretaceousMatrix: sandstone, approx 24\" x 24\" x 1.5\" (measurements vary)Top surface of matrix has been hardened with thin Paleobond penetrant stabilizer (last five photos show the surface qualities best). The matrix surface has a low-luster satin finish, not dead matte.
Footprint length (heel to tip of toe) is about 12.25 inches long. This is the track of a juvenile tyrannosaur. Only a few juvenile tracks were found in the quarry, which is a fossilized river bed with dunes on either side. However, most of the tracks at the site are from adult tyrannosaurs, along with those made by large and small hadrosaurs.
The print is in sections and can be shown as is, or joined and restored. It is un backed, as found int he quarry.
The drone shot shows the location from where the track was pulled (marked with an arrow). Visible in the drone shot is the negative impression from above which the positive was pulled (only the positive is for sale in this listing).
The photos were taken in sunlight. Under indoor lighting, the fossil appears darker like the last photo in my listing.
