Del Mar, Encinitas guide sign. Up for sale today is this Del Mar, Encinitas, Oceanside, La Jolla, San Diego diamond sign. Made to the exact standards as used around 1922-28 by the Auto Club of Southern California. the sign shown here was posted just south of Del Mar on the Coast Route, which became US highway 101 through north San Diego County, several years after these diamonds were posted. The original of these, complete with the logo of the Automobile Club of Southern California, would be worth many thousands of dollars, if it even survives at all. This sign is a faithful remake to the correct size (18 inches on a side, or about 25 1/2 inches up and down between the points), and weighs about 8 pounds, 4 ounces. please note that I can make a diamond sign for any set of destinations. inquire about custom orders! This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality.
