For sale we have a scarce near attic condition Civil War Era iron pontiled Historical Union Clasped Hands with Eagle quart Calabash whiskey flask or bottle. The color is in a rich deep vivid reddish golden amber that will pass light. When viewed without sunlight this flask has a rich chocolate coloration. This flask is fresh to the market example in near attic condition. The mold is very strong and crisp and well detailed. The base has a large crude iron pontil scar with the iron residue being on the outside of the large pontiled area. The lip is applied and crude with no issues. We date this Historical flask to the early to mid 1860\'s. The condition is near attic with no chips, cracks, deep scratches or scuffs and no staining. This flask has not been dug or cleaned. We only see some base age and usage wear and a little wear on the high points of the eagles wings when examined in strong light. There a few light thin spotty wear or age scratches also seen when tilted and rotated in strong light. We see some spotty washable dried content on the inside of the flask. There is a slight wear patch on the neck area. We picture these areas and they keep this beautiful example from being attic mint. We mention these age and usage relatedareas for complete accuracy. This is a nice crude early example that\'s in original untouched condition with a rich deep vivid coloration. This flask looks great in the window and shimmers with it\'s excellent glass quality. This would make a nice addition or upgrade to a Pictorial or Historical American flask collection.
