The balde was made of folded Damascus steel in Maru structure smelted and pounded to fold 13 times to creat 8192 layers, Not only can remove the remain impurities of the carbon steel and better distribute the carbon to form the blank, But also allow the layers to bend at rates. It was Fully hand forged, hand shaping, hand polishing in the most traditional method of sword making. The blade was well heat treating (Refining) and quenching(Tempering) greatly improve the hardness for real use. The blade has shaped in "UNOKUBI-ZUKURI" style, two Hi on each side, one is longer and shallow from habaki to kissaki, other one HI is shorter and deep which is from habaki to the middle of the blade . The sword is sharp enough for cutting pratice, very good choice for Dojo students and collection, gifts and display. It is durable enough for cutting tameshigiri and bamboo.

(1)The wooden sword stand in item pictures is NOT included. A random sword bag comes with the sword.
(2) This Katana can be taken apart fully anytime for maintenance purposes, you can disassemble the sword from the handle by taking out two pegs.
(3) Due to our swords are full hand made. So specs will vary slightly from sword to sword. please understand.
