These are the nicest, highest quality thick brown leather Cold War Makarov holsters we have handled. Better than even the Russian Military ones from the 1970's. Double layered leather flap and most retain there shape, almost like a "hardshell" holster. These are NOT faux "floppy" leather like some of the more modern commercial holsters supplied with Bulgarian/Russian Maks. The first three pictures show individual holsters, condition, and proof marks. They show examples of the BEST condition to the least BEST condition (essentially NOS to VG-Excellent).
These are Communist East Germany (DDR) pistol holsters made for The National People's Army (Nationale Volksarmee) or NVA. We have 16 of these total, they are authentic Military / Army as seen by the "NVA" proof mark inside each holster. Date code stamps indicate most were produced in 1970 (=M); 1971 (=X); and 1986 (=P). Majority are letter date code X for 1971. So these are 50+ year old Cold War Militaria in New/other unissued condition. I can not emphasize enough how sturdy these East German Army pistol holsters are, stitching, and leather quality are second to none! I mean they are Made in Germany after-all, a country known for high quality production of goods. These have a wide single belt loop (riveted) on the back.
The nicest ones are always on top of the surplus box, so BUY SOON to assure the best of the bunch, no hand select. Again these are Military Surplus dating from the early 1970's, and condition is very good/excellent to flat out never touched. All East German Uniform items were letter coded to indicate the year of manufacture from 1968 onward. Prior to this the actual year and possibly also the quarterwas usually stamped into the uniform item.K=1968, Z=1969, M=1970, X=1971, B=1972 ,L=1973, O=1974, S=1975, R=1976, A=1977, U=1978, F=1979, E=1980, G=1981, I=1982, C=1983, H=1984, T=1985, P=1986, L =1987, Y=1988, N=1989, D=1990(You will notice that the letter L is used twice.)
