DAGUERREOTYPE - 1/6 PLATE MAN & TOP HAT - IN WILLIAM SHEW CASE MAKER CASE 1840\'S- You are considering a strong and bold portrait of a distinguished gentleman posed next to his tall top hat placed on the table beside him. The sixth plate resides in his original case made by William Shew, circa the 1840\'s. Good luck to my winning buyer.

CONDITION:Please view my detailed photos for the actual condition of this cased image and as part of my description. The sixth plate has been resealed with P90 archival tape and a new sheet of glass applied. Again bold contrast, wonderful tonal range and expert sharpness are all attributes of this effort. The case retains the original leather hinge, a red velvet pillow and both working latches remain present. A strong portrait of a learned gentleman inside a wonderful housing. I will carefully ship this item to the winning buyer by way of Priority Mail.
