Up for offer is a wonderful vintage Valentine postcard. Featured is a colorful lithographic illustration of an adorable post-Victorian era boy wearing period attire sitting on a bright-red heart. He\'s holding an arrow in his hand and is taking aim at two joined hearts hanging on the wall. Below them is a beautifully printed Valentine greeting. When you supersize image 1 you can see the wonderful details. The artistry\'s terrific and the colors are still vivid.I strongly suspect that Ellen Clapsaddle, one of the most prolific and talented postcard artists at the turn of the last century, has provided the illustration as it epitomizes her style. Printed in pre-WWI Germany, and published the S. Garre (one of Clapsaddle\'s favorite publishers), this beautifully embossed postcard has been posted and has a 1913 cancellation across the divided back. The stamp has been removed.Here is a wonderful vintage card that is ready for framing. It will make a thoughtful gift or can be added to your Valentine or Clapsaddle postcard collection. CONDITION: Expected light soiling with slight corner blunting. A bit of surface and edge wear. No creases, stains or rips. Clear image and vivid colors. This 110 year-old paper antique presents beautifully.
