This dimmer dial becomes a necessity when you\'re running a lamp of this quality and size. Once the lamp reaches its maximum temperature then you can slowly dial back the brightness of the lamp to achieve the flow rate and brightness you desire. It is recommended once lamp is at full temperature to reduce dimmer to 80% for best results and longevity. You get to choose the brightness of the lamp yourself; you will not find this feature on any Lava Lamp.

DO NOT REMOVE BOTTLE CAP FROM GLASS GLOBE. Safety, Care, and Maintenance Instructions. Do not remove the cap on the globe or add anything to the globe. The air space at the top of the globe is necessary in order to allow for the expansion of contents. Breaking the seal on the globe shall void the warranty. • Remove all excess packaging before assembling. • Check and see if the light bulb and socket in the lamp base are centered and tightened prior to turning on the lamp. The socket may have moved during shipping. If this has occurred, then gently use your fingers to re-center the socket. • Only use provided bulb. Variances in bulb size or wattage will produce unsatisfactory operation, fire, or possible breakage of the globe.• Run the lamp on a clean and flat surface, away from heated surfaces and direct sunlight. Direct sunlight may cause colors to fade. • Do not place the lamp near sources of heat or cold, such as a heater or air conditioner. Lamp should be operated at room temperatures between 68-75º F / 21-24º C.• Allow the lamps (except 18.5”) to warm up for 2 to 3 hours to ensure it performs at its optimal level. For 18.5” lamps, allow 4 to 6 hours. Note: All LAVA® motion lamps have a free-floating coil inside the globe. This is to accelerate the heating process.• Do not run lamp for longer than 10 hours at a time. • Exercise caution when handling the lamp while it is plugged in. The lamp will take 2 to 3 hours to cool after it has been turned off. • To disconnect, turn all controls to the off position, then remove plug from outlet. • Handle product with care; the glass globe may break if subjected to any form of sudden impact.
