Nice TLS on letterhead from Meredith Wilson to Radio Personality Joe Thompson who worked at NBC in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco as well as KQED in San Francisco and often interviewed music and other celebrities. This came with a number of other signed letters to Thompson which date from the 1950s to 1970\'s. They were apparently obtained from an employee at the San Francisco radio station Thompson worked at many years ago. On page 83 of Thompson\'s memoir The Music World of Joe Thompson (Musicworld Publishing 1990) he notes that \"When NBC transferred me to Hollywood I continued to specialize in music . . . Meredith Wilson had been shipped south too, and his first show program was Showboat with Charles Winninger as Captain Andy. I was NBC producer on that and when they sank the showboat (it had been milked dry for Maxwell House) the hour became Good News with Meredith and a very big deal with MGM.\" The book namedrops hundreds of celebrities he knew or featured on various shows.
