This is a memorial medal honoring Theodore Herzl. who is referred to as \"the spiritual father modern political Zionism.\" (see Wiki bio below)

The medal is stamped bronze on one edge. Polished, it has a silver patina. There is a small maker\'s mark below Herzl\'s back collar that is confirmed to be the signatureof Prof. Boris Schatz by the Schatz House in Israel (I have email).

It is a solid, heavy piece to the touch and measures 3 inches long x 2 1/2 inches high.
