The plate hasa decorative scalloped border illustrated with various historic Columbia University buildings and monuments, and features a centralimagefeaturing the School Of Mines Building - Morningside.The back ofthis plate carries themanufacturer'smark: "The Columbia Plates -- 7. School Of Mines, Morningside, 1932 -- Copyright - Alumni Federation Of Columbia University, Inc. -- Wedgwood - Etruria, England -- Sole Importers - Jones, McDuffee & Stratton - Boston". The signature of the Columbia University President of that era - Nicholas Murray Butler - is featured. The Wedgwood impression/incision is also present.
