Cloverland Dairy Products Inc. New Orleans ONE PINT embossed vintage milk bottle:
$16.95

Up for sale is a nice vintage embossed one pint milk bottle from Cloverland Dairy Products Co. Inc. of New Orleans, Louisiana.
This bottle measures about 7.25 inches tall. The top measures about 2.25 inches across. The bottom measures about 3 inches across. The embossed features include:-Four small four-leaf clovers around the neck of the bottle
-A larger four-leaf clover on the bottom half of the bottle
-The following wording: CLOVERLAND DAIRY (located directly above the larger four-leafed clover) PRODUCTS CO. Inc. (located directly below the larger four-leafed clover) NEW ORLEANS, LA. (located directly below that) ONE PINT (located just above the bottom edge of the bottle)
In addition, there is a large block-style letter C embossed on the bottom surface.
In 1907, the New Orleans Times Democrat ran an article announcing the formation of the Cloverland Dairy Company. The new firm had a capitalization of $ 150,000 and assumed the assets of the New Orleans Pure Milk Company which had been in receivership. The officers of Cloverland included: Emile L. Kelfer (President), W. R. Irby (Vice-President), and George Villere (Secretary). Henry Teble was also on the Board of Directors. The company was located at 3625 Tulane Avenue in New Orleans. Multiple newspaper articles from the mid-1930s place Cloverland at the center of a heated controversy in which thousands of rural Louisiana dairymen went on strike after the company refused to meet their price demands for their raw milk. I was able to find continued references to Cloverland in Louisiana newspapers until 1953, but not after that year. Please see above for description of condition and for photos. (There are a couple of small condition issues.) Sold as is.
