Vintage Signed Ellen Clapsaddle Memorial Day Postcard - Girl with 2 Flower Baskets & Boy with 5American Flags - Embossed Patriotic Antique c1910Condition (see definitions below): Good--Several faint marks, possibly water spots, and a small scratch near the right side. No tears, holes, ink marks, creases or bends, front image is very good. Pleaselook at scans and use the magnifier, as they are part of thedescription. - Artwork: Beautiful girl and boy in white dressy clothes, apparently on their way to decorate the grave sites of Civil War soldiers and sailors. The girl is holding 2 baskets overflowing with multi-colored flowers, and the boy has 5 small American flags attached to sticks.
- Verse: "Now sleep the brave who sink to rest, By all their country's wishes blest."
- Artist: Ellen H. Clapsaddle, rare and very collectible.
- Features: Artist signed, embossed, gilded gold accents in the lettering, IAP Series 4397.
