Original Civil War EraUS M1855 Socket Bayonetw/ Leather Scabbard - Blade is "US" Marked - For 1855 .58cal Rifle-Musket - Very NICE Condition - RARE

Up for sale is an Original Civil War EraUS Army Model 1855 Socket Bayonet. This bayonet has the US marking on the blade. This bayonet will fit the .58 caliber Model 1855 Rifle-Musket.The blade and socket are in Very Nice Condition. Some minor discoloration on the socket & the blade. No rust or pitting on the socket or the blade. The bayonet is approximately 21" overall length, with a 3" socket with a 0.780" bore, 18 11/16" blade and 16 5/8" face flute. Also included is a Leather Scabbard. This scabbard features the early sewn frog and belt loop. The scabbard has the full leather covering with a brass tip. The brass tip has some minor dents & dings, see photos. Some wrinkling and creasing on the leather. There are US Ord Dept markings on the scabbard.This scabbard is an original period item.

This bayonet will fit the .58 caliber Model 1855 Springfield Rifle-Musket.

For all you collectors of the M1903Springfield, M1917 Enfield, M1Garand, M1942 Johnson, M1 Carbine and other WWII Battle Rifles.
