Civil War RATION Poke Haversack 4 MUSLIN BAGS Soldier Union Rebel: $7.99
BC- Up for sale are these Civil War era Ration bags, each order will have 4 bags.. They work great for hardtack, coffee beans, beans & rice. While I do not have specific documentation of the item, I made these for myself and they work well and so, I figure that a soldier of the period may have something similar. This sale will have 4 bags. Hand stenciled (not stamped). I filled the bags with coffee beans, measured the amount and added that measurement to the size description. Army Bread bag measures 5 1/2"w X 7 1/2"H, 2 & 1/2 cups. Note: the stencil on the Army Bread bag is not quite as crisp as the others. Coffee bag measures 5 1/2" W X 6 1/2" H, 2 cups. Bean bags measures 4 1/2" W X 6 1/2" H, 1 cup Rice bags measure 4" W X 5" H, 3/4 cups They will be of 100% cotton super muslin fabric, This material is much more expensive than the cotton shirting material I use on my other, less expensive bags. The stenciling is painted on. Items are new made and never used. Hand made, sewn on modern machine. Great for soldier or civilian alike or Cowboy reenactors, CAS, living historians of the Victorian era. These could be used for everyday usage!! NOTE: I do not have any documentation of these bags being issued and/or used, They are not presented as period items. If you have reservations about using these in a campaigner setting, please consult your unit guidelines. Comments from customers: "great addition to my kit, thanks again."
