This is one of the multitude of mess kits designed to be used by soldiers in the field . By the looks of this set it was probably used by a clutch of officers. It breaks apart into four parts a cooking pot with a heavy bale wire handle with mule ear guides and three serving plates. The flat bottom plates are deep and designed for soups, stews or foodstuffs. The kit is in excellent condition. It measures 9” across by 5-1/2” wide by approximately 8” tall.
